A New Friend

Ok, skip ahead to June of 2008. We haven't had many updates to the Rabid Mutant Death Puppy website because I just didn't bother to do it. It wasn't convenient, and didn't make for easy updates. Now here we are in 2008 and I've discovered technology from 2005 (Blogger!).

We're going to have regular updates, and new info - if I can stop being a dunderhead.

Yesterday we adopted a new friend for Scratch. He's a 1/4 Maltese, 3/4 Shi Tzu who looks like he came from the same litter as Scratch. He's black and white and spotty, just like Scratch. His new name is Pepper. (This picture is from the rescue ad we answered.)

Pepper was being relinquished by a woman who was going back to work and 'didn't have time for him anymore'. Nic and I have time for him, and Scratch has all the time in the world to be buddies with Pepper, so we were happy to rescue him.
(The house he was being stored at was pretty grimy and not too clean. There were Chihuahua's there being bred by "back-yard breeders", but the vet ticket that belongs to Pepper gives him a good bill of health.)

We took a bunch of pictures of him, and I brought the camera with me today, but forgot to bring a USB cable or the USB Memory Card adapter from the camera. (Dunderhead!). Pics will have to follow later today if I can find a USB Cord, or tonight if not.

We picked up a second puppy because we thought Scratch might not be getting enough stimulation during the day when Nic and I are at work. (He has a dog door and access to the yard, but no playmates and not a lot of activity he doesn't manufacture for himself.)

Hopefully his new buddy Pepper, will perk things up during the day.
Based on the amount of playing the first day, they look to be destined to be lifelong friends.
